Description:Begonnen 1909 (400. Geburtstag Calvins, 350. Jahrestag der Gründung der Akademie von Calvin), 1917 vollendet. Die INschrift "POST TENEBRAS LUX" (Nach der Dunkelheit - Licht) wurde das Motto Genfs nach der Reformation.
Insgesamt 10 Statuen: Die vier größten (v.l.): Guillaume Farel, John Calvin, Théodore de Bèze, John Knox. Die 6 kleineren Satuen und Reliefs zeigen Fürsten und Ereignisse, die an die Verbreitung der Genfer Reformation nach Europa und Amerika erinnern.
An jeder Seite der großen Stufen sind die Namen von Luther und Zwingli eingraviert - beides Reformatoren von großem Einfluss in Deutschland und der Schweiz.
Begun in 1909 (400th anniversary of Calvin's birth and the 350th aniiversary of the Academy by Calvin), completeted in 1917.
The inscription "POST TENEBRAS LUX" (After the darkness, light) ist the motto adopted by Geneva after the Reformation.
There are ten statues; the four large ones at the centre represent the main figures of the Reformation in Geneva: from left to right, Guilaaumne Farel, John Calvin, Théodore de Bèze and John Knox.
The six smaller ones and the reliefs evoke the ptrincipal actors and events that marked the spread of the Geneva Reformation throughout Europe and America.
On either side of the bprad steps, rectangular blocks engraved with the names of Luther an dZwingli, the two other great reformers who shaped the 16th century Reformation in Germany and Switzerland.
